Breastfeeding is best for babies. It provides all the nutritional health benefits as Mother Nature intended. In preparation for and during breastfeeding, it's important that mums eat a healthy, balanced diet.
Combined breast and bottle feeding in the first weeks of life may reduce the supply of your own breast milk, and reversing the decision not to breast feed is difficult. If you're thinking about bottle feeding your baby, always seek professional advice first - from your doctor, midwife or healthcare professional. When using infant formula, you should always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use carefully: unnecessary or improper use may make your baby ill. The social and financial implications, such as convenience and cost to a household over time, should also be considered.

Karicare+ Goats' Milk Follow On Formula is a premium goats' milk-based formula that is nutritionally tailored with a balance of key ingredients for formula fed babies aged 6 to 12 months. It is designed to complement the introduction of solids into your baby's diet. This formula is:
Age | Cooled boiled water | Level scoops of powder* | Number of feeds per day |
---|---|---|---|
6 to 9 months | 250mL | 5 | 3-4 |
9 to 12 months | 200mL | 4 | 3-4 |
12 to 24 months | 200mL | 4 | 2-3 |
*1 scoop = 7.3g of powder. NOTE: 1 scoop of powder added to 50mL of water yields approximately 55mL of formula. This feeding guide is a general guide ONLY; your baby may need more or less than shown.
Wash hands before preparing the feed. Sterilise all utensils by boiling, for 5 minutes, or using an approved steriliser.
Boil safe drinking water and allow to cool. Measure the required volume of cooled, boiled water into a cup or bottle. Warm to feeding temperature.
Use only the enclosed scoop. Fill scoop lightly; level off using built-in leveller. Avoid compacting powder.
Always add one level scoop of powder for each 50mL of water. Stir or shake briskly to dissolve the powder.
Test temperature on wrist before feeding. Feed immediately (do not store). Discard unfinished feeds. Prepare each cup or bottle separately.
